Mr. Basketball Nominees Northwest Ohio

<p>I finish up my series on Mr. Basketball Nominees with Northwest Ohio. As you will see below, the list is small and not as in-depth. While the personnel are not as strong as other areas like Central and Northeast Ohio, there were still some names that were deserving of being mentioned as they put up big numbers during the season. Here were the top 4 NW Ohio players for Mr. Basketball.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="588887" first="Josiah" last="Fulcher"]</strong> (2020) Lima Senior- One of the many seniors on this Spartans team that was arguably the top program in Northwest Ohio, Fulcher put up 21 point per game and athletically was a mismatch waiting to happen on any given night. He is committed to Bowling Green and will be a contributor early on for the Falcons next season.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="919011" first="George" last="Mangas"]</strong> (2021) Lima Shawnee- The highest scoring player in the area this season, Mangas led a very good Shawnee team to an undefeated regular season Mangas is a bigger guard that creates mismatches against the more rural schools in NW Ohio. He is likely to begin seeing recruiting increases as he continues his career with the Indians.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Joey Hollifield</strong> (2020) Cardinal Stritch- Hollifield has been a contributor for Stritch since his times as a underclassmen for the Cardinals. The senior point guard has a feel for the game, great vision, and athleticism that will serve him well next season with Oakland. He averaged 23 points per game this season.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="711936" first="Tahj" last="Staveskie"]</strong> (2020) Sandusky- The senior point guard put up 25 points per game this season for Sandusky and was most impressive as a perimeter shooter. The Blue Streaks floor general has a knack for putting the ball in the basket from 3PT range and contributing to his teammates beyond just scoring.</p>
