Devan McEwen, junior, Lebo:
Ranked fourth in 1A, the Wolves suffered their second defeat of the season, a 37-36 heartbreaker to Madison. But the 6-foot-2 McEwen did all he could to prevent it, including scoring approximately half his team’s points – 17. The previous day, McEwen went for 22 against Olpe.
Dawson Zenger, junior, Rock Creek:
Second ranked in 3A, Rock Creek remained undefeated, and Zenger continued his scoring onslaught. The 6-foot junior popped for 23 against Wamego, coming off three straight games of 30-plus.
Brady Klotz, sophomore, Royal Valley:
Klotz has been a steady sidekick to fellow sophomore Nahcs Wahwassuck. But against Burlington this weekend, it was Klotz who had the hot hand, finishing with 20 to Wahwassuck’s 15. It was Klotz’ first game of 20 or more on the season.
Gabe Garber, senior, Sabetha:
After scoring 25 in a loss to Zenger and Rock Creek, Garber bounced back with 21 against Silver Lake. The output exactly nailed his scoring average on the season – 21 points per game for the 5-foot-10 multisport star.
Cameron Beardsley, junior, Valley Heights:
The 6-foot-1 guard has had several games of 20+ on the season, but his production has fallen off a bit of late. But he tallied 15 in a win over Wetmore.
