Prospect Spotlight: Brian Chisolm (2020)
Brian Chisolm, a class of 2020 guard from Sandy Spring, has developed into an indispensable player for his team. While he isn’t known for his scoring, Chisolm contributes with his intangibles and willingness to make winning plays. Last week against McLean School, the 6’0″ guard recorded a triple-double, posting 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in a close loss.
“I base my game on Dennis Rodman,” Chisolm told Prep Hoops. “I do everything I have to do to win the game. It doesn’t matter if I score zero points. I’ll get every board, every steal. I’ll share the ball with my teammates. I’m just trying to win the game.”
Chisolm is known for his defensive prowess. His Coach, Azhar Shamsudeen, usually asks him to defend the opposing team’s best perimeter player. This is something that Chisolm takes pride in.
“I’d say my defense is the most underrated part of my game,” He said. “Coach usually puts me on the best player. Depending on if he can shoot or not, I’m good at helping and anticipating.”
Chisolm has dedicated his senior season to Ben Uzzell, his close friend, and teammate, who passed away tragically last year. He hopes that the team can win the PVAC Championship in honor of Uzzell.
What can Chisolm potentially add to a college program?
“Hustle. They don’t put me in the game to score. They put me in the game to get the ball and distribute to my teammates.”
