There were players that had great games last night, particularly from the guards. The perimeter play stood out across the sate. We will take a look at 5 guards that had standout nights and helped make it “Perimeter Play Wednesday”.
Clarkston’s Fletcher Loyer(5) and Jake Jensen(14) via Oakland Free PressJason Hunter (2022, G, Roseville)
Hunter is a rising sophomore prospect. His athletic perimeter defense is usually how he butters his bread, but his offensive game is quickly starting to stand out as well. Hunter finished last night with a career high 22 points in a win over Chippewa Valley. He’s a prospect to watch closely over the next few months.
Fletcher Loyer (2022, G, Clarkston)
We know how talented his brother was at Clarkston. Fletcher may actually have more upside as a prospect with his athleticism and defense. He continued to impress on both ends last night. Loyer dropped 27 points in a dominating 69-23 victory over Bloomfield.
Andy Soma (2020, G, Traverse City West)
Soma has been perpetually underrated. He continues to stack up huge performances in his senior season. Wednesday night was no different as dropped 30 points in a hard fought 59-55 win against Gaylord. Soma is definitely a next level player.
Jamahl Trice (2021, G, Warren Lincoln)
Trice is starting to put his name on the map with a strong seasom for Warren Lincoln. He scored and distributed at a high level last night. Trice led his squad to a 66-49 win over Marysville. He finished with 22 points and 4 assists.
Charles Woodhams (2020, G, Otsego)
Woodhams has been having a truly memorable senior season. So much so, that some have thrown him into the Mr. Basketball conversation. Woodhams didn’t disappoint last night. He dominated in multiple facets of the game with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals.
