6’6 Sr Brandon Ellington | Cardinal Ritter
Brandon played very well last night, and his length gave McCluer fits throughout the game on both ends. Even if he didn’t come down with the board, he nearly always got a hand on it. He had some of the evenings biggest highlights with a steal and two hand slam in transition and a big time put-back dunk in traffic during Ritter’s big second half run.
6’7 Sr Garry Clark | Cardinal Ritter
Clark and Ellington were quite the 1-2 punch inside for Ritter. Clark was equally effective on the glass and as a rim protector. He showed off an improved jumper, knocking down a deep two from the wing. He also converted on a crafty up and under finish. Excellent athlete and rim runner.
6’5 Sr Kameryn Hubbard | McCluer
Kam is one of the most explosive athletes in St. Louis. He can absolutely fly. Still raw back to the basket, but a nightmare in transition and if he catches with space he is looking to tear the rim down. Must box him out. He can knock down the mid-range. Can hold is own defending the perimeter on a switch.
6’5 Jr Karl Moore | Jennings
Strong, physical forward that is aggressive and more athletic than he initially appears. He is really tough in the paint. Does a great job of clearing to space on drives and when he receives the dump off he is going straight to the rim and doesn’t care who is in his way. He threw down a number of two hand slams in transition.
6’4 Sr Dakari Gray | Lift for Life
Stat-sheet stuffer. Darkari impressed me. He’s a bit undersized in some match-ups but his high-motor versatility makes him a tough guard. Defends the post well. Runs the floor. Rebounds and comes up with blocked shots. Pick and pop threat that spread the floor early with a pair of three pointers.
6’5 Jr Jalen Hampton | University City
Always have your popcorn ready when you’re watching Jalen Hampton, he is a human highlight reel. Fun to watch in transition where he regularly throws down acrobatic slams. Everything he does around the rim is a dunk attempt. He constantly challenges defenders at the rim and continues to improve his ball-handling ability. He finished with a 23 point 10 rebound double-double in the win over Soldan yesterday.
