Arkansas Valley-Chisholm Trail (I)
Derby, Campus, Hutchinson, Maize, Newton, Salina Central, Salina South
Devin Araujo-McKendrick, 6’0, G, 2021, Derby
A terrific athlete for Derby who has a long frame and a good defensive awareness. He stays with the ball and has great length and mobility. Araujo-McKendrick can handle the ball and can see time in a variety of positions given his athleticism. He plays off the ball well and can score at times when he has an open look and is feeling confident. A scrappy player who runs hard and makes good plays in half court and transition settings.
Winston Bing, G, 2021, Maize
A nice glue piece for Maize who can score, rebound and force turnovers. Bing has solid athleticism and moves well off the ball. He runs the floor well who can get up in transition and score or facilitate. A nice defensive rebounder as well who makes plays on both ends of the floor. Bing is averaging 9.1 points while shooting 40 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line. He also adds 1.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
Jaxon Brackeen, 6’1, G, 2021, Newton
An underrated performer who has good handles and smart instincts which allow him to create plays where there may not be any. Brackeen has a terrific step-back and elite range and confidence. He can create with his dribble and looks to disrupt defenses with his in-and-out style of play. An offensive scoring guard for Newton who’s averaging 13.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and two steals per game. A nice overall player who does a lot of positive things on the floor.
Blake Chadwick, 5’10, G, 2021, Derby
Chadwick is a confident scoring guard who can handle the ball summon catching score. He moves off the ball and comes off of screens and has a nice 3-point shot in a high release point for a player his size. Chadwick runs the lines well and makes smart extra passes and can rebound and get inside and connect from the free throw line.
Treyton Peterson, 6’0, G, 2021, Hutchinson
A good leader and scorer for Hutchinson who can score in a variety of ways. He’s a terrific rebounder, especially on the defensive side of the floor as 42 of his 51 rebounds after 15 games come on the defensive boards. He’s averaging 10.6 points, 1.1 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. He’s shooting 42 percent from the field, 30 percent from 3-point range and 55 percent from the free throw line.
