4A Recap/Rankings

<p>The 4A league is interesting it seems the top five teams are their to stay and from their down it seems their is a lot of parody. Here are our top ten teams from 4A.</p> <p><strong>10. Thomas Jefferson</strong></p> <p>Thomas Jefferson is a team who has had some very big wins and close losses to top teams. This team has a great shooter, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/darius-hornbuckle/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/darius-hornbuckle/">Darius Hornbuckle</a></a>, </strong>who is leading the team in scoring with 16.9 points per game, he has a great jumper off the dribble which he uses to score. They have some big match ups coming when they play George Washington and East. </p> <p><strong>9. Centaurus</strong></p> <p>Centaurus has had some tough losses but have also beat some top 4A teams. They have one of the best seniors in the state, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/owen-koonce/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/owen-koonce/">Owen Koonce</a></a>, </strong>who is averaging 17.5 points and 6.9 rebounds a game. This team has some good challenges to finish off the season when they play Longmont and Niwot.</p> <p><strong>8. Green Mountain</strong></p> <p>Green Mountain has had an up and down season, they have won some big games and lost to decent teams. Their senior guard, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/blake-schell/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/blake-schell/">Blake Schell</a></a>, </strong>has stepped up as of late having multiple 20 points games recently. This team finishes off the season playing some good teams in Golden and Evergreen.</p> <p><strong>7. Golden</strong></p> <p>Golden is currently the number one team in the tough Jeffco 4A league. This team does not have any super star, but they play as a complete team. This team has some challenging match ups when they play Green Mountain, D'Evelyn, and Wheat Ridge to finish off the season. </p> <p><strong>6. Pueblo West</strong></p> <p>Pueblo West is coming off of a loss against Pueblo Central, but have beat some very good teams throughout the season. Their game against Pueblo East which I mentioned last week was moved to this week, should be a great match up. This team plays Pueblo East twice before the season ends and has a rematch against Pueblo Central. </p> <p><strong>5. Harrison</strong></p> <p>Harrison has played very well this but they do not have a very hard schedule compared to other teams. <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/tayzhean-archuleta/">Tayzhean Archuleta</a> </strong>has been stepping up to help out their top scorer, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/donta-dawson/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/donta-dawson/">Donta Dawson</a></a>, </strong>if he can stay consistent, this team could make a deep run in the playoffs. They have some decent challenges coming up when they play Widefield, The Classical Academy, and Sierra.</p> <p><strong>4. Longmont</strong></p> <p>Longmont has not had the usual dominant year, but have still had a great season that puts them as one of the top teams in 4A. This team has a trio, <strong>Eddie Kurjak, Dallas Dye, </strong>and <strong>Ryan Schneider,</strong> who have been leading this team to good wins. They have a good challenge coming up when they play Centaurus. </p> <p><strong>3. Northfield</strong></p> <p>Northfield has had a great second varsity season being one of the best teams in 4A. All three of their losses have come to very good teams and they also have their fare share of good wins.This team has a good balance of guards, wings, and bigs that not many teams can match. This team will competing for the DPS title with East, that will be a good game to watch. </p> <p><strong>2. Cheyenne Mountain</strong></p> <p>Cheyenne Mountain experienced their first loss of the season to Discovery Canyon. This team has a great player, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/javonte-johnson/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/javonte-johnson/">Javonte Johnson</a></a>, </strong>but is not the deepest team. Their early season second option, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/wade-jones/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/wade-jones/">Wade Jones</a></a>, </strong>is out from injury and will help the team a lot when he comes back. This team has some good games coming up when they play Sand Creek and Lewis-Palmer.</p> <p><strong>1. Mead</strong></p> <p>Mead has gone on a 17 game winning streak, only losing the first game of the season. This team has been dominant in almost every win, even games people may have thought could have been close. This team has earned the spot as the number one team in 4A and are built for a big run in the playoffs. They have three potential challenges before the season ends when they play Frederick, Holy Family, and Erie.</p>
