Here were some of the juniors who stood out:
Trent McLaughlin SG 6’3 Basha (Pictured)
-One of the top standstill shooters in the state from the 3pt line is starting to add to his game. He is driving the ball to the cup and uses the floater game well. He also gives a hard shot fake and take 1-2 dribbles and pulls-up from mid-range.
Max Majerle SG 6’3 Arcadia
-Son of Dan Majerle moves smartly without the ball and can shoot it with range. He takes body contact well and scores through it. He has a good first step to get into the lane and can use the floater. He can hit from mid-range and step back on his defender and hit the deep 3.
Moses Demalek PF 6’6 Paradise Valley
-Fluid forward is improving quickly. He seemed to grow about an inch and has great length and wider shoulders. He has good thickness and strength to get into the lane. He can rip through and score on contested layups powering his way through. He can make the mid-range jumper and is slowly taking his game to the 3pt line.
Owen Shaw F 6’6 Arcadia
-Another fluid forward plays a lot like a 3. He can face-up to the 3pt line and from mid-range with consistency. He has good athleticism and rebounds well in his area with his sturdy frame. He is a good passer and plays a smart game.
Kieran M. Carr CG 6’0 Arcadia
-Carr is turning into a top-tier catch 3pt shooter. He has a super quick release and the Titans consistently run plays for him. He needs very little space to get it off and squares up flawlessly. He makes good reads to teammates and he plays on or off the ball.
Ravion Hodge SF 6’4 Cesar Chavez
-A fairly new player on varsity is picking up some extra minutes recently and is playing well off the bench. He is a super long lefty that rebounds well and can drive the lane to score it inside. He also has a good looking 3pt shot and it seems like his confidence is growing. He will need to add a lot of weight to his frame but shows nice upside.
Ricardo Sarmiento PG 5’10 Cesar Chavez
-A tough on-ball defender and a great competitor. A coach on the floor is always directing his teammates. He has good court vision and can make shots from the 3pt line but is best from mid-range. He is one of the tougher players on both ends of the court.
