Prospect Upshot: St Johns XXIII vs The Village School

<p>This prospect upshot was two TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) district foes who battled it out on the hardwood. St. Johns XXIII Lions vs The Village School Vikings. </p> <p>St Johns XXIII jumped out early on The Village School in the first quarter forcing multiple turnovers and getting easy buckets at the rim. With a persistent game plan, The Vikings were able to take the lead, and once they had it they never looked back during the game. There were a lot of trading baskets in the second and third quarters of the game. He is a good catch and shoot prospect off of screens and also on the move. Has solid on-ball defense and a nice motor. He would be a great fit for any NAIA/D3 school looking for a two-guard. He finished with 16 points and shot 4/7 from behind the arc.</p> <p><br /> <strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Dorian Boyland</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’4 W | The Village School | Jr.</span></strong><br /> Dorian is a two-way prospect who is solid on both sides of the ball. He was able to get the lane at will against the Lions. He is a play initiator and runs the point for the majority of the game. He has a solid motor and was active in the entire game. Finished the game with 16 points.</p> <p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jordan-henderson/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jordan-henderson/">Jordan Henderson</a></a></span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’7 PF | The Village School | Sr.</span></strong><br /> Jordan is an unsigned senior who cleans house on the glass. He is very athletic and would be a great fit for schools on the NAIA/D3 level. He had a couple of flushes in the game as well as altered a handful of shots. He plays solid on-ball defense as well as challenges shots at the rim. He can run the point at times on the next level as well as be utilized as a wing player. Would be a solid fit for any D2/JuCo/NAIA/D3 program that is in need of a shooter that plays defense and is long and athletic. He ended the game with 33 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had 3 blocks and also shot 3/6 from deep. </p> <p><br /> <strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Jonathan Amos</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’0 G | St Johns XXIII | Sr.</span></strong><br /> Jonathan is a speedy guard who plays bully basketball and gets downhill very quickly.
