Martin Luther King was one of the most influential individuals in United States history. He was one of the greatest leaders to ever live. Martin Luther King had the ability to get others to follow his lead and to make positive change in the world.

There is no better time than MLK Day, to take a look at positive young leaders in our communities. There are many gifted and intelligent young leaders in Michigan high school basketball. We should celebrate the young athletes that make our futures look brighter.

[player_tooltip player_id="531700" first="Ryan" last="Corner"] (2020, PF, Allendale)

Corner quietly goes about his business. Don't look now, but he's one of the best post players in Michigan. He's also an attentive and hard working young man. Coaches at the Prep Hoops Top 250 raved about coaching him.

[player_tooltip player_id="784992" first="Carlos" last="Johnson"] (2020, SF, Benton Harbor)

Johnson is as talented as they come on the basketball court. But that's just the start. He's humble and appreciative off the court. Johnson is the type of young man that others will follow.

Nicholson remained confident in himself and his path throughout high school. It has landed himself amongst the best players in the state. Nicholson is an example of persistence and patience equaling success.

[player_tooltip player_id="789751" first="Mike" last="Robinson"] (2020, F, Ann Arbor Huron)

If you want to know why he's on this list, watch him in a huddle. Robinson is so eager to learn. He responds to coaches and nods his head as they speak. Anyone this anxious to learn will be in position to lead.

[player_tooltip player_id="789756" first="Jacob" last="Tomsich"] (2020, CG, Midland Dow)

Tomsich's trainer, Dell Johnson, has been raving about him for years. And for very good reason. Sure he's one of the best shooters in Michigan, but he's also a top notch student and a great young man.

[player_tooltip player_id="531692" first="Jarvis" last="Walker"] (2020, PG, Muskegon)

Walker has always been a star. He just has IT. That allows him to be the most prepared player and person in the building. Walker educates himself and always seems to know what's coming next. He's the kind of person that can lead the next generation.

[player_tooltip player_id="789835" first="Josh" last="Wilson"] (2020, PG, Henry Ford Academy)

Wilson is a star on and off the court. He has prepared himself for a future on and off the basketball court. Wilson is disciplined in all facets of life and is a great representative for his school.

[player_tooltip player_id="789746" first="Lorenzo" last="Wright"] (2020, PG, Belleville)
