In Game 3 of the 2020 Chance Harman Classic (Day 1), it was battle between Teays Valley Christian (WV) and Blue Ridge School. Here's a look at the five biggest takeaways.

The first half was a battle of juggernauts

In the first half, Teays Valley Christian led by just two points, 29-27, behind a big first half from 2021 guard David Jones. Jones put up 16 points on two made 3-pointers for his squad to power the offense. On Blue Ridge School's side, 2022 forward Malik Brown stepped up with 10 points off the bench. It took a big second half from Jones for Teays Valley to pull out the 57-50 victory.

Jones continues to get hot in the second half

David Jones continued to show out for Teays Valley Christian in the second half, scoring 17 points and finishing with 33 on the night to lead all scorers. He was an efficient 12-of-16 from the field, 2-of-4 from 3-point range and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line to go along with 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals. He's an emerging guard that's due to see his stock grow in the coming months.

Blue Ridge School backcourt goes cold

Blue Ridge School didn't get much out of their backcourt of William Lee (2020) and Mike Gray (2021). They didn't shoot the ball well, going a combing 8-of-34 (23.5 percent) from the floor in the loss. Gray did finish with 14 points but it wasn't his best day from the floor. As they came up short on offense, the team eventually fell in the end. They did bounce back, however, on Day 2, so stay tuned for that report. As a team, they shot 5-of-24 (20.8 percent) from the field in the loss.

Malik Brown finishes with 17 points

2022 forward Malik Brown finished the game with 17 points and five rebounds before fouling out after 21 minutes of play. He did well shooting the ball on offense, going 8-of-10 from the field and 1-of-5 from the free-throw line. As he learns to defend the paint without fouling, he'll be an emerging forward to watch and track.

Brandon Brown is an emerging guard in the Teays Valley backcourt

2021 guard Brandon Brown is an emerging guard to watch on the wing. He finished with 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting from 3-point land in Teays Valley's victory. He did well to do a little bit of everything while on the floor. As he learns to do more in less dribbles, he'll become a prospect that will show he can play above the rim.
