Supporters from all four schools were in attendance and all of them saw solid performances from each school.
I was in attendance for both games and came away with a short list of players who played well.
Here are the top performers from Ultimate Preps Hoop Xtravaganza:
Javar Daniel, Arlington: The freshman big man had 16 points to lead the Tigers to the 52-40 win over Jonesboro. Daniel was very active on the glass and scored 10 of his 16 points in the third quarter to help Arlington build a 40-27 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Tigers are now 6-3 on the season.
Phil Dotson III, Arlington: The sophomore guard had 15 points in the win over the Hurricanes. Dotson III scored eight of the team 14 first-quarter points. After tip-off, he knocked down back-to-back 3s.
Keyln McBride, Jonesboro: The junior guard had 13 points against Arlington. McBride kept the team in striking distance in the third quarter after making his third 3-pointer of the game to get the Hurricanes (3-3) within 42-33.
Kavion McClain, Whitehaven: The senior guard led the Tigers with 18 points in their 71-47 win over Tipton-Rosemark Academy (4-4). It was a close game for the entire first half and most of the third quarter until Whitehaven pulled away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Rebels 25-10. McClain, who made four 3s in the game, received player of the game honors. The Tigers are still undefeated at 12-0.
Kristian Spencer, Whitehaven: The sophomore guard had 17 points in the win over Tipton-Rosemark Academy.
Alvin Miles, Whitehaven: The senior guard had 15 against the Rebels. Miles made two 3s during the team’s decisive 25-10 run to end the game.
Alex Anderson, Tipton–Rosemark Academy: The junior wing led the Rebels with 25 points in their loss to Whitehaven. Anderson was the only player for Tipton-Rosemark Academy to score in double figures.
