As a scorer he is very efficient with his touches showing feel around the hoop with a soft touch. Better mobility and fluid moves than we had seen even during the summer where he was a bit mechanical. Runs the floor hard for how big he is. He shows a solid shooting stroke from the free throw line. Dominant rebounder on both ends grabbing them at their high point. Defensively he is at his best. Elite level shot blocker that has such an advanced feel for swatting shots both inside and contesting threes.
The St. Joseph’s post spoke about the start of his season for his Chargers.
“We started off a little rough. I got injured at the beginning which was a blow, but we are now coming together and clicking.”
Where has he seen the biggest improvement since his freshman year?
“I became a lot tougher. Last year you could say I was frail. I got in the weight room and took it serious. I got stronger and faster. I got bigger. More athletic.”
He talked about the strength of his game which is defense.
“Blocking shots is obvious. I still need to get better quicker moving my feet and be more intense.”
Offensively he has improved his post game significantly.
“This past summer I put in a lot of time in the gym working on my moves and my shot.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Wisconsin has sent me a letter and wants me to come visit.”
Illinois has been the one school to come watch him play so far this year.
“Nothing really. I know Adam Miller from Morgan Park has committed there. He said he is looking to have me come out there and watch a game to see how it is.”
