Prospect Spotlight: Kyle Bond (2020)
It’s always nice to get out to various events early in the season where there is usually at least one or two sleepers. Kyle Bond, a class of 2020 post prospect form Forest Park, was one who stood out at the DMVelite NoVA Tip-Off earlier this month. The 6-foot-8 center produced efficiently despite being hampered by foul trouble, and it was surprising to hear that no schools were actively recruiting him during our interview after his game.
“I’m an inside player. I can shoot from the outside if I’m open,” Bond told Prep Hoops when asked to describe his overall game. “I’m aggressive. I attack the boards. I finish strong. I’m good at the line.”
Shooting is probably the most underrated part of Bond’s overall game. It’s something he works on in his free time because in practice he’s primarily responsible for rebounding, setting screens and finishing inside. Ball-handling is another thing that Bond is continuing to work on in his free time.
What are his goals?
“This season, I want to win the district, hopefully, win regionals and go far in the state tournament. Long-term, I want to play in college, see where it takes me. If that doesn’t work out probably do something in cybersecurity, but I want to play basketball in college.”
