Karter Thomas 6’0″ / PG Oshkosh West
Karter Thomas’ junior season ended with a devastating injury. Thomas suffered a torn ACL and his availability for the start of his senior season was in question. After a rigorous rehab, The O-West guard has returned and now appears to be back at one-hundred percent.
In a Wildcat win over Eau Claire Memorial, Thomas put up 32 points.
Brock Heffner helped Grafton to two big wins at the WBY Shootout. The power forward scored a combined 55 points in victories over Kaukauna and Waukesha West.
Heffner is a strong power forward who is playing his best basketball at the right time.
It is time to finally give Jacob Ognacevic a nomination for the Prep Hoops Wisconsin player of the week. Ognacevic put up some huge numbers for Sheboygan Lutheran this week. First, the PF scored 45 points in a win over Lake Country Lutheran. He followed that up by scoring 29 points and grabbing 15 rebounds in a close victory over Edgerton.
Every championship contender needs an experienced point guard. Milwaukee Academy of Science can put a big check in that box. Kaleim Taylor is one of the best senior point guards in Wisconsin. Taylor is a really good playmaker who makes MAS a true contender.
The UW-Milwaukee commit had a nice game in a win over Martin Luther, scoring 29 points.
Honorable Mentions:
Carter Gilmore continues to put together some amazing performances. This week, he finds himself on the honorable mentions part of the list. Gilmore’s play in Arrowhead’s win over Kimberly was incredible to watch. He tallied 32 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.
Antuan Nesbitt stuffed the stat sheet for his squad in a victory. The 2021 wing prospect scored 26 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out five assists.
Nesbitt’s days of being an underrated prospect are quickly coming to an end.
