1. Bishop Gorman: 4-0 Last Week 3-0 – Gorman looks like the team to beat again. They filled their hole in the middle by adding big man Christian Bento. The Gales went undefeated last week with wins over Spring Valley, Sierra Vista, and a convincing win over San Gabriel Academy in the So Cal – Las Vegas Showdown. They open up against Skyridge of Utah in the Tarkanian Classic.
2. Arbor View: 4-0 – Last Week 3-0 – All I want for Christmas is Jaylon Lee back on the floor for Arbor View. The Aggies have the feel of a team that believes they can win it all. They have a superstar and are one of the deepest teams in the league. They are currently undefeated, without their big man playing a single minute, however, I feel that to get to the promised land, they will need a healthy Lee. The Aggies open up against Grandview of Colorado in the Tarkanian Classic.
3. Coronado: 2-1 – Last Week 0-1 – Coronado fell to Corona Centennial last weekend in the So Cal – Las Vegas Showdown.
4. Liberty: 3-2 – Last Week 2-1 – The Patriots came up just short out in California against Evan Mobley and Rancho Christian. All world scorer Julian Strawther threw up his 4th 40 + point game of the season. The Patriots open up with Riverside Poly in the Eight Championship of the Tarkanian Classic.
5. Desert Pines: 2-1 – Last Week 2-1 – The Jaguars were one of the last teams in the state to open up. They went 2 and 1 last week with wins over Las Vegas and Rancho. They fell to Etiwanda in the So Cal – Las Vegas showdown. The Jags have a huge matchup with Josh Christopher and Mayfair this week at the Tarkanian Classic.
6. Durango: 4-1– Last Week 1-1 – The Trailblazers are one of the most battle-tested teams in the state. They won an emotional game against head coach Chad Beeten’s former team on Wednesday and then battled Harvard Westlake down to the wire. This team is lead by the backcourt toughness of Keshon Gilbert and Anthony Hunter, and the relentless play of Kendrick Gilbert.
7. Silverado: 6-1 – Last Week 2-1 – The Skyhawks just keep putting together wins. They will open up this week against Cleveland Heights in the Tarkanian Classic.
8. Reed 5-1 – Last Week 2-0 – Reed has continued to roll up victories. They got two wins last week including a victory over a talented Foothill squad. They take on Wooster and Douglass this week.
9. Reno: 7-1 – Last Week 4-0– Reno has been gotten off to an impressive start. They went 4-0 last week with wins over Douglass, Weed, and Yreka. They host Damonte Ranch this week.
10. Spanish Springs: 6-2 Last Week 3-0 – The Cougars haven’t lost to a team from Nevada all season. They are led by do-everything guard Mason Whittaker. Spanish Springs host Wooster this week.
