This week was full of great games that had lots of great players in them. I saw some exciting prospects and look forward to giving you my evaluations each and every Sunday throughout the season. It is time to recap this week and look at what our exciting 2021 prospects did.

Bedford North Lawrence:

Ben Cosner – 6’3 2021 W/F: I noticed Cosner really tried to get his offense going this game. Loved his aggressiveness going to the rim as he converted a really nice baseline And 1. Cosner is a prospect that could breakout at any moment this year and there were signs of that in the game against Columbus East.

Kooper Staley – 6’0 2021 SG: Staley had a tremendous weekend. He does a really nice job on playing his role in the offense. His length allowed him to block a layup that converted into a catch and shoot three on the other end for him. He had his best game of the year on Saturday by dropping 17 point connecting on 4 threes. This junior prospect is a sniper.

Jackson Miracle – 6’4 2021 PF: Miracle played his best game of the season so far as he dropped 12 points with most of them being putbacks. On the defensive end he had multiple blocks and took care of the paint. He also has a really nice baseline jumper when he gets the opportunity to shoot. Miracle could start making the leap forward he needs now that he has been asserted in the starting lineup.

Greensburg:

Lane Sparks – 6’0 2021 PG: This junior plays with a tough mentality. Had a nice steal and bucket along with a rebound and tough putback. Runs the floor really well and knows where to be on the offense.

Brownsburg:

Pierce Thomas – 6’5 2021 SG: Thomas is without question the most athletic 2021 prospect in the state of Indiana. He had a huge one-handed slam off the dribble that showed off his incredible vertical. Not only can he slam it, he can shoot it from any range. Thomas ended the day with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Luke Lacey – 6’0 2021 PG: Luke Lacey is a fast guard. He had a real nice pass that lead to a catch and three for his team. He does a good job in scanning the court and knows what to do with the ball. He finished with 4 points and bunch of assists.

Heritage Hills:

Blake Sisley – 6’8 2021 PF: Sisley was one of the most impressive prospects on the day as he was one of the leading scorers with 21 points and almost had a double-double with 9 rebounds. He might be the strongest rebounder in his class. He had strong rebound on the day that would turn into an And 1. When given the opportunity he also can shoot the ball like he showed with his catch and three ability.

Gary West:

Mason Nicholson – 6’9 2021 C: Nicholson is a very interesting big man prospect. He has a really smooth touch with his shot but does not look to score that much. His aggressiveness was not what it needed to be on Saturday. Once he works on that and his cardio, he will be an effective big man.

Paris Roberson – 5’11 2021 PG: His play and body reminds me a lot of Kemba Walker. He is tough guard meaning that he doesn’t back down from bigger ones. He added a nice And 1 on the day which would lead him to scoring only 3 points. Very good with his decision making.

Quimari Peterson – 6’1 2021 SG: Peterson was the best player on the court having scored 17 points. He is a good defender but makes his living on the offensive side. He makes good passes but tries to do most of his damage behind the arc. 2/8 from the perimeter is not ideal but he finds other ways to score as well.

Parrion Roberson – 6’3 2021 F: During this game, I really enjoyed watching Parrion the most. He is always hustling and does not show signs of folding like some of his teammates may do. He had two really nice catch and threes that helped him add 10 points on the day. If you are looking for a prospect that is always looking to get better, Roberson is you guy.

Carmel:

Brian Waddell – 6’5 2021 SF: Waddell is one of the more lengthy SFs I have seen this year so far. He is really good with the catch and shoot and can get buckets in transition. To add to his stellar offensive play, he had thunderous block as well.

Evansville Reitz:

Khristian Lander – 6’2 2021 PG: Lander played as well as you would expect from a top 2021 prospect. Had an awesome lob finish that showed off his crazy hops. His pull-up jumper is one of the best I have seen from a player.

Owen Dease – 6’6 2021 SF: Dease didn’t have the best of game that I saw but showed flashes of what he is capable of. Lengthy shooter that makes it tough for defenders to defend. He also showed off his nice spin move to the rim as well. Wish I could have seen him connect a little bit more on his shots.

Ethan Higgs – 6’3 2021 SG: Higgs has a real tough altitude when he plays. He had a couple of attempts on baseline drives which resulted in him getting to the line. He is the type of player you want on your team just by the little things he does.

Silver Creek:

Trey Kaufman – 6’8 2021 PF: Kaufman had a relatively quiet game on Saturday. He was on Caleb Furst the entire game and it was fun watching those two go to battle. His defense was quietly effective but his jumper wasn’t falling. Usually, Kaufman will be able to score in the post whenever he wants to.

Kooper Jacobi – 6’6 2021 PF: Not enough words can describe how huge of a day Jacobi had, especially in the first half. He dropped 26 points in the first and ended up with 36 on the day. He showed off his jump shot over the defender and driving ability. The just looks like it comes easy to him. Jacobi is on track to have a breakout year.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk:

Caleb Furst – 6’8 2021 PF: Such a powerful player Furst is. He had 2 monster slams that showed he can fly. He also has the best fade shot out of any forward in his class. He matches up well with pretty much anybody and is a scoring machine. He ended the day with a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Zane Burke – 6’2 2021 SG: Burke showed off his ability to shoot the ball from behind the arc. Had a pull-up 3 and a catch and shoot 3 as well. I love how automatic he is. Overall he has a great shooting arsenal.

Marcus Davidson – 6’0 2021 SG: Davidson overall plays really solid. Has a great catch and shoot three and always has his hands ready to fire. He does not just camp out behind the arc like most SGs do as he had a nice driving reverse layup as well. Really solid player for Blackhawk.

Bloomington South:

Connor Hickman – 6’2 2021 SG: Hickman is a real nice, athletic SG prospect. He does most of his damage around the basket as he had a put-back and left handed post move against Culver. He drives to the basket really well and had a nice pull-up jumper at the buzzer in the 1Q. Hickman is in for a breakout season and will be one of the key players for the Panthers.

Joseph Bomba – 6’4 2021 SF: Though not as powerful as his brother, Joseph does some really nice things on the court. The thing that really stands out to me his smooth three point shot. His length causes problems to defend his jumper which is a huge asset to his game. His length also helps him defend almost any position.
