Towns has put his talent on display early in the season. Instead of looking like a freshman, he’s performed like a playmaking veteran. Towns has already shown the ability to go toe to toe with seasoned upperclassmen. He has the ability to carry his team offensively. Towns is already a versatile scorer that can shoot off the dribble and use his smooth athleticism to create looks at the bucket. We caught up with Jakhary Towns and talked about his game, the key to his fast start, and more.

What’s the biggest strength of your game?
Jakhary Towns:
I would have to say my shooting game.

What has been the key to your fast start this season?
Jakhary Towns:
A lot of hard work and I have been in with the best players in my class so that helps.
Question:
What has been the biggest adjustment to high school basketball?
Jakhary Towns:
The speed of the game and the tempo.
Question:
Is there any added pressure being a freshman?
Jakhary Towns:
No there’s no pressure because I feel like I put the work in and I’m ready to compete and have fun.
Question:
Who is the toughest player that you’ve ever matched up against?
Jakhary Towns:
I would say Jalen Griffith from Chicago and Fat Man Bogues from Baltimore.

What is the best basketball advice you’ve ever been given?
Jakhary Towns:
Work hard and stay humble.
Question:
Who’s your favorite teacher? Why?
Jakhary Towns:
Mr.Morgan because of his unique teaching style.
