Jemaine Seagears does an excellent job of creating an organized, efficient, competitive environment. The camp begins with skill work and concludes with an all-star game of the top 20 players in attendance. It’s one of the easiest camps to evaluate because the camp attracts the top players in the area and he makes sure competition is always at its highest. In this article, PH takes a look at some of the Point Guards from the WODE Freshmen/Sophomore camp.
Nick Jefferson 5’11 2024 – The 8th grader played like a veteran. He showed excellent poise and an above-average handle. Easy to identify his best skill, as he was an absolute sniper all day, knocking down several shots off catch and shoot action. High IQ player with an enormous ceiling.
Jaiden Fisher 5’10 Desert Oasis 2023 (#9 PHN 2023) – Fisher is a cerebral PG. He showed one of the best handles at the camp. Shifty guard with quick COD ability. Primarily a driver/slasher that gets paint touches, no one could stay in front of him all day. He was at his best when executing in half-court situations.
Elijah Burney 5’8 Centennial 2023 – Burney is a PG who constantly has control of game tempo. He’s not the quickest player, but he changes speeds well and understands when to attack. Looks like he’s gliding to the bucket on his drives. Good finisher who uses both hands well around the rim. 3 pt shooter that can hurt you if given space.
Trenon Brown 5’9 Canyon Springs 2022– Brown played well all day. He was able to get to his spot consistently and knock down jumpers. He was most effective using his mid-range. Brown has a terrific 15-18 foot pull up. He stops on a dime, sending defenders reeling and then raises up to complete the play.
Jaques Williams Jr 5’10 Arbor View 2022 -Williams is a powerful drive first guard. He was one of the best P&R players at the camp. Williams came off shoulder to shoulder and executed the correct decision every time. His best attribute was his ability to finish once he got to the rim. Used both hands well and showed the ability to finish through contact.
