After last weekend's Bear Down Jamboree at Butler, I'll hit the road back to Louisville for the King of the Bluegrass Jamboree at Fairdale High School. Here's a look at the schedule and some players to watch on Saturday.

Eastern vs Spencer County (Noon):

Just looking at the schedule, this game appears to be the best of the day and will feature multiple future college players. Spencer County has a talented Junior class with Sam Conley and Jake Whitlock but I'm interested to see what strides Sophomore Gage Mabry has made since last season. Eastern's James Jewell is a known commodity in the 2022 class but I look forward to seeing fellow Sophomore Christian Spalding and how he plays head to head with Whitlock.

CAL vs Apollo (1:30):

The Centurions are led by Senior Tyler McDaniel who provides a solid post presence. Apollo is led by Seniors Malik Wilson and Ryan Ash. Both teams are looking to bounce back from disappointing 2018-19 seasons, especially the Eagles. They only won 3 games a season ago and should be in a position to improve greatly on that.

North Bullitt vs Lyon County (3:00):

The star of this one is Lyon County 8th grader Travis Perry. Lyon County doesn't make many trips to central Kentucky so I'm interested to see how Perry does. North Bullitt went 9-22 last season but return their entire team from a year ago. With that type of experience coming back, the Eagles are hoping to surprise some folks in the 6th region. I saw them this summer and they play hard and have great chemistry.

Fairdale vs Boyd County (4:30):

The host Bulldogs have one of the best players in Louisville in Stephen Moore while Boyd comes in with Senior Blake Stewart comes back after averaging a team high 21.5 points per game last year. Stewart is one of the top players in the 16th region. Junior Carson Webb should have a bigger role with Boyd after averaging just under 10 points per game last year.

Doss vs Union County (6:00):

Union County has a tough guard duo in Kale Gaither and Eli Wilkes. Gaither is one of the best scorers in the 2021 class while Wilkes showed his passing skills at our Top 250 Expo in August. Doss is hoping to rebound from a disappointing 10-20 season and will have to do it with a roster of players who were role players last season. Union has aspirations of winning the second region. Beating Doss would be a nice start to their season.

Manual vs Daviess County (7:30):

Manual is anchored by Eli Roberts but will need some guards to step up and establish themselves if they want to have any hope of competing in the always tough 7th region. Daviess County graduated 5 Seniors and Dakota Walden made up about 40% of their offense last season. Seniors Chris Hillard and Ryan Thomson have their work cut out for them this year.
