At 6’7” the face up four man made a couple of standout plays in the top 30 game. One he slashed crossing the floor and then had a nifty layup. Converted another scoop shot off the bounce. Capable three point shooter as well with a feathery touch. All the physical tools are there for him to be a big time prospect with his size, athleticism, and skilled game at a young age. Also the bloodlines are on his side as his brother is former Simeon star Steve Taylor who was the top player in the 2012 Illinois high school class.
Taylor spoke about his game.
“I can put the ball on the floor and advance it. I can pass and see everything. I can knock down the shot down when needed.”
He ran with the Mac Irvin Fire 14U over the summer.
“It was fun. It was my first time playing AAU. I just started playing basketball my 8th grade year. We won a lot.”
What have some of the vets at Morgan Park taught him about the game so far?
“They have taught me a lot. The basics. Rebounding and doing the little things. People think it is just about scoring, but you can score in other ways.”
Several colleges have been impressed with him in open gyms already.
“Illinois and Wake Forest and a few others.”
What does he like about Illinois?
“It is home. They are going to take me down there one day to visit.”
