Saturday night is the finals of the home team Mesa vs Desert Vista.
Here were the top performers I viewed: (Pictured from left to right)
Andrew King SG 6’3 2022 Desert Vista
-A growing shooter who is a natural scorer. He has a quick trigger with good range and can get hot in a blink of an eye. He does love the short corners but knows where to spot up all over the court and smartly moves well without the ball.
Tayan Thompson PF 6’5 2022 Desert Vista
-A strong face-up 4-man with a much improved jumper. He now can consistently hit 3’s easily and looks good doing it. He has a thick body, long arms and can score it inside as well.
Osasere Ighodaro PF 6’9 2020 Desert Vista
-The top senior prospect in the AIA showed off vs Hamilton. He made 3’s, dunked the ball, rebounded, made plays for his teammates and blocked anyone’s shots near him. He was all over the place and proved why he should be a candidate for POY in 6A.
Dasean Lecque PG 6’0 2022 Desert Vista
-A dynamic PG who can score it from all 3 levels. He dunks the ball impressively, hits shots from deep and can get to the rim with ease. He loves attacking the basket and can euro his way to the cup. The ball is on a string for him and can beat pressure then find teammates. He is quick on the ball defensively and has an all-around game.
Malik Mack PG 6’0 2021 Desert Vista
-Arguably the top on-ball defensive guard in the state. He has supreme lateral quickness and great open court speed. He is very good at getting downhill and plays smartly with the ball.
