Class AAA PrepHoopsTN Top 10!
High school basketball is back!
Considering the on-paper talent and what we know about these programs, we've put together a Class AAA Top 10. The first week of action was considered, but most of these teams are in this for the long, long season. Don't expect these teams to lose much, and one or two boulders are unlikely to derail the ten trains below.

1. Houston
The best starting 5 in Class AAA. Mason Miller turned the corner from up-and-coming prospect to elite high school wing. Nobody knows how to guard him anymore. The physical toughness is new, but the shooting touch is familiar.
T.J. Madlock developed a lot in the last year. Houston might even be better next year if the core stays together!
2. Memphis East
Brand new starting lineup. Opened season with a win. Just one playoff loss in the last three State Tournaments.
3. Whitehaven
Guard-heavy again. No more Faragi Phillips. Vanderbilt plucked the best, young coach in the state for their staff and the best '20 in Memphis, Matthew Murrell, left for I.M.G. This should have been the AAA favorite, but losing your head coach and Mr. Basketball candidate is significant.
4. Mt. Juliet
The surprise pick, perhaps. Will Pruitt keeps getting better. Riggs Abner gives the team rebounding and length. It will be a tough road and the depth is just ok for a top 5 team. Still, several starters are consistent and unflappable.
5. Cleveland
Experienced guard play. JaCobi Wood is arguably the best point guard in the state. Belmont signed. Keep an eye on transfer PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine All-Star Game MVP Morrell Shramm and sharpshooting gymrat Grant Hurst. Collegiate talent.
6. McGavock
Brainy and brauny point guard Marvin Hughes has his best supporting cast of his illustrious career.
7. Summit
8. Blackman
Starters are all back. Jalen Page and Zoryn Harrington welcome Oakland transfer Ray Tyler (Tusculum signed).
9. Hillsboro
Talent is jaw-dropping. Two top 40 players, J.P. Pegues and Ryan Wilcox, make Hillsboro a nightmare on paper. Can they congeal?
10. South Doyle
Considered: White Station, White County, Maryville, Cane Ridge, Sevier County, Siegel, Bartlett, Oak Ridge, Morristown East, Morristown West, Coffee County.
