Since spring, high school basketball players have worked hard trying to improve their game and get exposure. We will take a look at some of the athletes that have increased their stock or cemented their place among the best since last spring.
Jack Karasinski (6’5″, SF, Grand Rapids Catholic Central)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #8
Karasinski didn’t necessarily ‘move up’ up this spring and summer, but he certainly established himself as one of the elite in his class. He was nearly unstoppable at the wing with MBA National. Karasinski should be considered a D1 target.
Ethan Dunn (6’10”, C, East Lansing)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #19
Dunn’s performance at the Prep Hoops Top 250 leapfrogged him into the top 20. He has great footwork in the paint and a soft touch on the ball.
Genessis Kemp (6’5″, SF, Grand Rapids Catholic Central)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #21
Kemp moved steadily up the list as the summer played on. He had some superb performances on the biggest of stages with Bates Fundamentals. Kemp is an explosive scorer from the wing.
Derrick Voltz (6’4″, SG, Carrollton)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #29
Voltz is a superb all around athlete and his performance at Dell Johnson’s Let’s Get Ready III helped establish himself as a high level prospect. Voltz has a very high ceiling for development as a player.
Cooper Craggs (6’7″, F, Novi Catholic Central)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #38
Craggs was excellent at exposure camps this fall, particularly at the Prep Hoops Top 250. He was comfortable anywhere on the floor and constantly made an impact. Craggs can effectively guard multiple positions.
Ben Canty (6’5″, SF, Salem)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #49
I knew Canty was good, but after seeing pieces of workouts with Coach Jalen Bouma , I came away even more impressed. He’s an athletic wing that can finish over the rim. Canty also has a nice base and balance on his jumper.
