It’s important to acknowledge all the hard work that the players put in since spring in order to earn their spot on the list. Late last week we looked at some players that have steadily moved up the rankings since last spring. Let’s take a look at some more players that rose on the list of prospects because of their performances during grassroots season, or at team camps and prospect camps.
Scott Sims (2022, 5’10”, PG, Kalamazoo Central)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #55
Sims is the type of player that you have to WATCH. If you look at just the numbers during the spring and summer, you aren’t doing him justice. Sims was a solid lead guard for BTO Elite. He was comfortable with the ball in his hands facilitating the offense.
Carson Sanders (2022, 6’3″, CG, Hanover Horton)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #56
Sanders exploded in the fall. There were whispers in late summer and he had drawn some attention at that time. Then Sanders showed up to the Prep Hoops Top 250. He was exceptional. In fact, he was easily one of the top 5 players there.
Cooper Fairman (2022, 6’3″, G/F, Saline)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #70
Fairman had a solid spring and summer, and sent a message to scouts and coaches. He hammered home his message at recent prospect camps. Fairman was athletic and showed improved perimeter skills at the Prep Hoops Top 250. It feels like he’s on the verge of really big things on the basketball court.
Sheddrick Murrell (2022, 6’4″, F, Saginaw Arthur Hill)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #93
Murrell shot up the list after his performance at prospect camps this fall. He dropped jaws at Dell Johnson’s Let’s Get Ready III. Murrell is an athletic forward that can guard multiple positions. He’s fast and smooth getting down the court and is a tough finisher.
Nate Childers (2022, 5’10”, G, Benzie Central)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #100
Childers put himself on the map with his performances at prospect camps this fall. He was so steady even when playing with upperclassmen at Prep Hoops Top 250 and at Dell Johnson’s Let’s Get Ready III. Childers has shown a lot of skill and potential as a player.
