The OCC-Cardinal personally may be my favorite conference to cover. Night in and night out you’re going to see teams that can knock each other off on any given night.

From Hilliard Bradley to Thomas Worthington down to the bottom of the league there will be a ton of competition. To put it in the simplest forms it’s something to be excited for in watching these teams.

First Team:

Jalen Sullinger (5’9” / PG 2021 / Thomas Worthington): The lead guard for Thomas Worthington is set to have another big year. Sullinger can create for teammates and score it at a high clip. The lefty can fill it up from all over, even with his size. So, expect him to be among the scoring leaders in the conference this season. Sullinger continues to be a mid major priority.

Matt Allocco (6’4” / G 2020 / Hilliard Bradley): Matt Allocco is the best guard in the conference and a matchup problem for others. Good defender that is going to turn defense into offense, which will be a big part of his scoring around the rim. Low post scoring is there, take advantage of mismatch opportunities. Capable shooter but isn’t his go to. Allocco will be the best all around player in the league. One that can defend, rebound, assist and score it.

Isaac Settles (6’5” / WG 2020 / Thomas Worthington): Another part of the terrific junior class for the Cardinals is Settles. A wing scoring threat that is once again set up for a terrific season. The senior has the capability to shoot it off the dribble and around the rim with craftiness. Thomas Worthington offense is set up to score a ton of points and the junior will be in the middle of it.

Paul Burris (6’5” / W 2020 / Delaware Hayes): Recently committing to Ashland, Burris was a steal for them. A lot of potential, the senior could take over as the leading scorer for the Pacers. Spot up shooter that can stroke it or use his size off the bounce. This 2020 prospect brings the ability to lockdown the perimeter as well, and will do so this season.

Tyrese Hughey (6’7” / PF 2021 / Thomas Worthington): Maybe the biggest transfer news in the area, Hughey is going to thrive in his new home with the Cardinals. The junior is going to have the chance to rebound a ton of shots, as well as cleaning things up inside. With his ability to move Hughey will be a threat to clean up things in transition too. A double double guy every night, the top big in the area is an easy pick here.

Second Team:

Nate Griggs - Delaware Hayes

Dan Lee - Dublin Jerome

AJ Mirgon - Hilliard Bradley

Andrew Patrick - Hilliard Darby

Jack Pugh - Hilliard Bradley

Special Mention:

Chris Mayfield - Hilliard Bradley

Jayden Prince - Dublin Scioto

Addison Harvey - Delaware Hayes
