Black is one of the most skilled junior post players in Michigan. He is tall, long, and athletic which makes him a valuable player physically. Black is excellent on the glass, using his physical gifts to dominate on the backboard. He can also protect the rim by altering shots and making opponents aware of his prescense. Black has the ability to shoot woth 3 point range as a big and stretch the defense.
Black is an experienced player that continues to get better. His most memorable performance may have been when he hit 10 triples in a game. Black is looking forward to big matchups next season with Detroit Frederick Douglass and River Rouge. He’s currently focused on building muscle and improving his defensive effort.
Malachi Black would be a significant addition to a college basketball team. His skills on the court should transfer well to the next level, but he brings much more than that. Black will provide a college coach with a dedicated and hard working student-athlete. This will allow him to improve drastically over his college career. Black is currently receiving high interest from Division 2 schools.
Black is driven by his goals. He is trying to get enough exposure so that schools at the next level can see what he has to offer. Black hopes to get the opportunity to receive a scholarship and attend college for free. He wants to study Business Management or Entrepreneurship when he gets to college.
Malachi Black has a bright future both on and off the basketball court. He is motivated to be successful.
