Prospect Spotlight: Jiaan Sehhat (2021)
Jiaan Sehhat, a class of 2021 wing from Langley, has been a consistent standout during the offseason. Wherever we see him, he finds a way to stand out. Sehhat recently caught our eye at the South County Fall Team Camp. We recently took an opportunity to catch up with him about his overall game, goals and much more.
PH: How would you evaluate you and your team’s performance this morning?
JS: “We did the best that we could against a tough team. I’d say I had a pretty good day. Shooting from the arc pretty well. Making a couple of threes for my team. But rebounding, I could’ve done a lot better in the game and so could’ve our team.”
PH: What, if anything, is underrated about your overall game?
JS: “Communication on defense. Letting my teammates know where I’m at and calling out the screens.”
PH: What do you need to work on?
JS: “I still need to work on my communication. Boxing out is something I need to work on as well.”
PH: What are your goals?
JS: “I’ve been playing basketball since age 4. One of my biggest goals is to play in college.”
PH: How do you plan to meet your goal?
JS: “I’ve been on a weight lifting schedule. Working out 6-7 days a week for one or two hours. For school, right when I get home from practice I set 1.5 hour study time. And I’m taking an SAT Prep course to study.”
PH: What can you bring to a college program?
JS: “Intensity and energy.”
