Preseason Player of the Year: 2021 CC Withrow, Clear Creek-Amana

This division lost a lot of scoring firepower. You could make a solid argument for any of three CCA players to earn the POY honor (Withrow, [player_tooltip player_id="955272" first="Tyler" last="Schrepfer"] or [player_tooltip player_id="796172" first="TJ" last="Bollers"]), but we’re going with Withrow, the most efficient of the three. He ranked second on the team in scoring, assists and steals and shot 54% from the floor. The Clippers should be the team to beat in the division, and Withrow is one of several reasons why.

2021 CC Withrow, Clear Creek-Amana (11.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals, 54.0 FG%)

One of three Clippers to land on the first team, Withrow didn’t lead the team in any category, but was solid and efficient across the board last year.

2020 [player_tooltip player_id="956033" first="Kaden" last="Wetjen"], Williamsburg (13.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.3 steals)

The Raiders won just five games last season, but the 5-9 guard was great in those wins, averaging 15.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.0 steals. He’s tops among returnees in scoring, assists and steals.

2020 [player_tooltip player_id="801936" first="Kole" last="Tupa"], Center Point-Urbana (11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.8 steals)

The 6-3 forward does most of his damage inside the arc, although he’s shown the ability to stretch out and knock down an occasional 3. He led the Stormin’ Pointers in rebounding and steals last season, and will be the go-to scorer for CPU this year.

2020 [player_tooltip player_id="955272" first="Tyler" last="Schrepfer"], Clear Creek-Amana (12.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals)

Schrepfer led the Clippers in scoring, assists and steals last season and is the division’s second leading returning scorer.

2021 [player_tooltip player_id="796172" first="TJ" last="Bollers"], Clear Creek-Amana (10.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.3 blocks)

A highly coveted prospect on the gridiron, Bollers has also been productive for CCA’s basketball team, showcasing himself as a good two-way player with his ability to control the glass and protect the rim.
