Profile:
This Wake Forest commit can flat out go! He led the Nike EYBL in assists this summer and was one of the tops in steals as well. Jet quick lefty that is lightning quick with the ball in his hands. Gets to the rim with a great burst off the dribble and is a blur with the rock in transition going up and down the floor. Quality distributor that gets others involved.
Odds to Win:
35/1
Why He Can Win:
The Morgan Park point guard will have a chance with the way he leaves an impact on both ends of the floor. He is going to make others around him better even when he isn’t posting huge scoring games. Will get steals and start the break. Watson will have primetime games at all three levels of the state to put his name in the conversation.
Obstacles to Win:
Biggest obstacle is right in his own backcourt as the co-favorite Adam Miller will be right next to him all season. That is good on the court, but just like the Heisman trophy it is usually hard to have two candidates for an award like this.
