#1 Salpointe Catholic
Salpointe Catholic has 8 returning players and one of them is named Evan Nelson. Nelson is a top 5 player in the class of 2020 and will lead this team far into the playoffs. I expect Gainey to see a big bump in his production this year as well.
#2 St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s has a ton of young talent, which will ensure them being good for years to come. However, I think they need one more year to develop those players. Don’t get me wrong, they’ll be a really good team this year! I just think the veteran leadership that Salpointe has will give them the edge over a team this young.
#3 Arcadia
Arcadia is also led by two young prospects, Max Majerle and Owen Shaw. These two have the capability to take the team very deep this year. We’ll see how Max looks coming back from his injury and Shaw has really impressed me this summer with his shooting ability and sneaky athleticism.
#4 Peoria
Peoria is one of those teams that’s always solid year after year. I think that they will have another solid season under their belt. They have some young prospects that I think will play a big factor into their overall team success.
#5 Catalina Foothills
Coach DaMoore is one of the best coaches in the state. He has 7 varsity returners and I think he’ll be able to create something with that. I think Nigel Wilson will have a big role of this year’s team. Wilson is super long and athletic, he’s definitely someone to keep a close eye out for.
