Prep Hoops takes a look at several of the state’s top performers throughout the spring and summer.
11-Isiah Holz, 6’, 2021, St. Mary’s, SSA Elite White 16U
A skilled player with the ball in his hands hands who brings speed, efficiency and the ability to score anywhere on the floor. He’s almost too fast for his dribble at times and intentionally keeps the ball in front of him. He had several big moments as an offensive player and found his the bounce more often than not.
6-Aidan Harper, 5’10, G, 2021, Winfield, Perry Ellis Elite 16U
Another guard who plays good defense and looks to stay with the ball. Harper had several steals at the top of the key and was able to get ahead of his competitors and finish in traffic. He also found openings in half court settings and was able to pass to his teammates inside for looks off the glass.
21-Geivonnii Williams, 6’0, 2021, Topeka, Kansas Hoggs
A nice point guard who can handle the ball and feed his teammates. He can create for himself and can fight through contact and get to the free throw line. He is an underrated defender who is somewhat sneaky. He picks his moments and knows when he should risk it and dive after the ball.
3 — Brent Showalter, 5’11, G, 2021, Shawnee Heights, Kansas Cagers
A good player who can handle the ball, play defense and come up big as a scorer. He does a little bit of everything and can see time as a primary ball handler and a catch and shoot player. He also gets down the floor and is good at getting back on defense.
15-Austin Hilton, 6’3, 2021, Belle Plaine, Attack
Hilton is a nice wing player with good vision and a competitive nature. He has a nice basketball frame and looks to get inside and take advantage of mismatches. He runs the floor well and can slash with the ball in his hands and runs well and can even connect from the perimeter.
