Moory Woods (Alton – 2020)
Woods continues to elevate his stock each and every time he hits the floor. The Alton shooting guard is a strong and athletic wing that can score from multiple levels of the floor. Displayed his athleticism with multiple rim rattling jams. Got in the lane with ease throughout the day. Earlier in the day he shot it pretty well from three. Woods is primed to be the go to guy this season for Alton.
Ethyn Brown (Belleville East – 2021)
Brown came off the bench in both games we saw, but he was solid when in the game. One of the top junior guards in the metro east is a slick ball handler that can get downhill to the cup and is a capable three point shooter. Best winning off the dribble at this stage.
Luke Cox (Triad – 2020)
The performance of the day came from this Triad wing. Cox was absolutely in a zone! He has a feathery jump shot which he knocked down from three point range along with a couple tough fade aways. More than just a shooter he won off the dribble and was effective using shot fakes to set up his moves. In his second game of the day Cox dropped 50 points!
Addis Moore (Southwestern – 2021)
Moore put his name on our radar with a strong day. The small forward has good length and in a setting where not a ton of defense was played he shined on that end getting in passing lanes and showing his awareness defensively.
Alex Yardley (Mattoon – 2020)
Third weekend in a row we have got a look at this post prospect from Mattoon. Brings quality size and strength to the table. Soft touch around the hoop and showed potential as a defender on the interior blocking shots.
Nate Hall (Collinsville – 2021)
Hall continues to see his stock go up and up. We first saw him two weeks ago in Carterville. Like what he brings to the table with his size at 6’6” and length on the perimeter. He is a combo forward that rebounds really well despite his slight frame. High pointed rebounds in traffic getting second chance points. Can handle it a little scoring on a couple crafty layups.
Chris Porter (O’Fallon – 2021)
Scoring point guard that can get buckets. That is what Porter brought to the table. Connected on an array of deep threes and had a couple aggressive straight line drives for scores.
Cameron Shultze (Alton – 2021)
The point guard is tough and crafty with the ball in his hands. Showed to be a good ball handler and works well in the pick/roll game.
Quani Rudd (Mt. Vernon – 2021)
Rudd is primed to breakout this season. He has excellent size at about 6’6” and this small forward is so explosive with the ball in his hands. Plays well above the rim on dunks off strong drives in the half court. Super bouncy! He has a smooth all-around game even throwing a couple sweet passes. Struggled early shooting and got better as the day went on. Shoots a good ball, just has to become more consistent with it.
Carson Prost (Mt. Vernon – 2021)
Prost is a new name from Mt. Vernon that showed promise. Two guard scored on some tough drives and was an adequate perimeter shooter.
Ky’Lun Rivers (Alton – 2020)
Rivers is a combo guard from host Alton that can score it. Crisp ball handler that got to his spots and was able to finish with either hand at the cup. Solid passer and rebounded well from his guard spot especially on the offensive end.
Larry Hill (Alton – 2021)
Hill was a surprise name. In his first game of the day the scrappy combo guard showed toughness on both ends of the floor and was able to score in transition with consistency.
Simon Wilson (Mt. Vernon – 2020)
Wilson is a wing that has been known mostly for his shooting. Hit a sweet fade away from the mid-range in one of the games we saw. Rebounded well in traffic and handled the ball with more confidence than we had seen previously.
Phillip McGuire (Jerseyville – 2020)
First look at this Jerseyville combo forward. Good size and can scored from the mid-range. Flashed as a shot blocking presence with his mobility on the defensive end.
