Preseason Player of the Year: 2020 Matt Ockey, Gilbert

Ockey is the best player on what we expect to be the best team in the league, and as such, receives the preseason POY honor. A talented scoring guard capable of getting the job done from all three levels, don't be surprised to see him averaging close to 20 points a game this year for the Tigers.

First Team

2020 Matt Ockey, Gilbert (15.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals)

A talented scoring guard who will pace the team we expect to be the best in the conference, Ockey's 50 made 3-pointers last year rank second among league returnees.

2020 Tyler Sansgaard, Nevada (17.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.2 steals, 62 3PM)

Sansgaard is the top returning scorer in the league, and his 62 made 3-pointers are also tops among returnees. If he can improve his overall efficiency (38.2 FG% last year), watch out, as he could become one of 3A's best scorers.

2020 Cade Balvanz, South Hamilton (10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 65.5 FG%)

The 6-5 big man was remarkably efficient last year and will need to be dominant this season for a Hawks team that lost over 43 points a game from last year's roster.

2020 Carter Morton, Greene County (15.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.9 steals)

Morton ranks third among returnees in scoring, and also third in rebounding. With a pair of scorers who averaged 21 points a game last year for the Rams graduated, this is Morton's team. He could put up some huge numbers this year.

2022 Jevin Sullivan, North Polk (7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds)

The 6-0 sophomore guard had a solid year as a freshman, and should emerge as one of the league's best players this year. He's a talented shooter with unlimited range, and as he continues to mature physically, he'll become a big-time scorer for the Comets.
