Although these prospects have not played a single game of high school basketball yet, they blended right in with the rest of the group and tried to make plays. The 2023 watchlist will be released sometime during the winter and here are some names that will surely be on the board.
Class of 2023 Standouts:
2023 5’6 PG Samuel Chen (Newport HS) – The smallest player in the entire event really showed some nice flashes of being able to make plays versus bigger and older competition. Samuel is a left-handed shooter that is comfortable playing on or off the ball and he squeezes passes through seems that do not even appear possible at first. Samuel is the type of player people will underestimate, but he can play some ball.
2023 5’11 G Miles Gurske (Black Hills HS) – A strong and sturdy guard that still has some room to grow taller. Miles can really make plays with the ball in his hands, whether it is creating his own shot, or dumping off a pass to his big man. He has a nice change of pace and should only get better with time. A 2023 player to watch moving forward. *Feature image
2023 6’1 G Christian King (Seattle Prep HS) – Long and lean guard/wing player with real potential down the road. Christian has a nice skill set for being so young and he still has another growth spurt or two in him, as his dad is a 7 footer that played in the NBA (Rich King). Christian will take some time to continue to grow and develop his body, but I could see him blooming into one of the top 2023 prospects in the state when it’s all said and done.
2023 5’7 G Carson DeBruhl (Seattle Academy) – Skilled and fearless smaller guard (for now) that pushed the tempo and did a quality job of setting up his much older teammates. Carson sees the floor well and will only continue to get better with time and should develop the right way in a quality program at Seattle Academy.
Other 2023’s to Watch For:
2023 5’11 G Finn McSherry (Seattle Academy)
2023 6’1 G Demetreus Saddedin (La Salle HS)
