Earlier in the day we took a look at the first team version of this article, that was a lot of fun to put together.

The second coming of this article was no different. I’m a fan of these as it’s a good preview to the season, as well as a hype kind of read.

Say you’re looking to find a game this winter with some big time talent, this is a set of articles you could always go back to. As these players are bound to put on a show every night.

These all-star teams are just a fun way to bring together some talent and think “what if”. It isn’t necessarily about the top ranked players but more so the fit that they have together. Which, is the biggest difference between first and second team, putting the best fit together.

Second Team:

PG Keaton Turner (6’0” / Dublin Coffman): Turner could be the most interesting player in this bunch, as he’s do for an even bigger breakout then prior. With the transfer of Dominiq Penn, Turner is the guy at Coffman. Tuner is a quick guard who can blow by you and get a bucket. Also, basically a threat from anywhere on the floor as he can stop and pop from anywhere of distance. Can drop it off to the big, play tough on-ball and flat out competes. No matter the success of Coffman this season, their senior should put up numbers.

CG Taquan Simington (6’2” / Columbus South): Simington was big time for South last year. A guard that likes to score at the rim, and has strong athleticism that benefits him on both sides. The Bulldog can pin a shot to the backboard without a problem, just to show off that bounce. The 6-2 guard is a competitor out there, and maybe one of the best defenders in the area. A jumper that is capable, Simington is a threat from the mid-range game as well. With the loss of Tre Watkins, the South senior will be a candidate to pick up some of that production.

WG Marcus Johnson (6’4” / Columbus South): Another South Bulldog, because they just flat out have some players. Marcus Johnson is a very athletic two-way player that can go. A big factor in getting South to the Schmitt last year, Johnson is a terror in transition and rebounds well. Tough defender that blocks shots and plays the passing lane. South made the move to division one, so things will be a big tougher. The 6-4 senior would give this team another athletic guard that is versatile and can guard multiple positions.

PF Bilal Sow (6’5” / Canal Winchester): Bilal Sow was very productive last year for the Indians. Sow plays bigger than his size at times, bullying the paint. The senior brings the ability to stretch the floor as well as a shot blocker. A long wingspan that disrupts on defense and causes problems. Sow is one of the better power forwards left in the area.

C Brandon Noel (6’8” / Chillicothe): The Wright State commit kind of blew up this spring with many Division ll offers, but eventually finding home at the Division l level. Noel has what it takes to be a modern day big man, as he can score and be a threat inside. But, also has the ability to stretch the floor a bit and work with the ball in his hands. Rebounds the heck out of the ball and is a tower inside. Noel would solidify this lineup and make it a very tough one at that.
