Today, we’ll be covering the middle tier prospects in 2020 and 2021. These prospects are mid-major locks with the potential to go higher.
2020
Evan Nelson – Salpointe Catholic
Evan Nelson has been killing it since he stepped foot in the high school scene. This year, you can expect that same level of production at least and you will see him pursue finally winning the state championship. Nelson has gotten very close the last couple years but could never quite reach it. This is their year.
Alem Huseinovic – PHH Prep/Nevada
If you want to see one of the best shooters in state, look no further than Huseinovic. The kid can absolutely light it up from deep and gets hot in a hurry! Alem has committed to Nevada.
Dre Henry – PHH Prep/Nevada
Dre Henry has continuously put in the work to get to where he is now. He looks super mobile and athletic. Henry has also committed to Nevada. I’d definitely recommend checking out these two current and future teammates out this season.
2021
Carson Basham – Sunnyslope
Basham could easily go high major but most of his offers are mid-major. Which is why he finds himself on this list. Basham could easily go high major, we’ll just have to see how he develops and what kind of season he turns in this year.
Justus Jackson – Millennium
Jackson is going to be a very good mid-major guard. Unlike Basham’s case, I don’t see him going high major and that’s fine. I think his size restricts him a ton but I guarantee he will be an amazing mid-major guard in the near future.
JT Elder – Cienega
Elder has all of the intangibles and physical abilities of a high major prospect but it just hasn’t all come together yet. As of now, I would say that he is a mid-major prospect but has high potential to go high major due to all of his physical abilities and intangibles. We’ll see how Elder does this season before reevaluating his stock value.
