Aaron’s Best of April Standouts : Table Setters

In the month of April I got to see tons of basketball from two big events with loads of talent on display. I was able to see Prospects from all over the west coast and discover new faces from my home state of Arizona.     I went through all the talent I scouted from the month of April and made four categories and placed 10 players in each category highlighting 40 players in total     My categories include Long Range Shooters, Glass Cleaners, Go-To Scores and Table Setters. He is a legit play maker that seems to set he teammates up in the spots they are most successful in. Talen has amazing vision in the lane and will give quick drop off passes. He sets up the pick and roll and gives the pocket pass on time and on target. He will advance the ball up the side lines and push the pace. He is a good floor general that makes great decisions.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/mason-tamlyn/">[player_tooltip player_id='2552792' first='Mason' last='Tamlyn']</a> - Mason is a crafty guard that is more dangerous then he looks. He uses his high IQ to get others open. He will get paint touches and draw help defenders to kick to shooters. He likes to play at a fast pace and push the ball in the open floor. He looks for backdoor cutters and is able to thread the needle through tight coverage.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/cooper-frakes/">[player_tooltip player_id='2146242' first='Cooper' last='Frakes']</a> - Cooper is a traditional point guard that runs the offense effectively and efficiently while getting his scorers going. He attacks the paint and will drop off dump passes or kick to shooters. He has nice vision in the open floor and advance the ball up to scorers. He set the tone on the offensive both times I seen him play and hardly turned the ball over.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/davon-darby/">[player_tooltip player_id='2878042' first='Davon' last='Darby']</a> - Davon is a super quick and flashier guard that is able to thread the needle. He impressed me most with his vision in the lane dropping off no look dimes to teammates in the dumpers spot. He used his crafty footwork and speed to attack gaps and draw defenders to him. He also draws attention of the defense because his ability to score giving his teammates the opportunity to get open looks.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/kameron-pippen/">Kameron Pippen</a> - Kameron Possibly had the best vision I seen throughout the entire month of April. He was able to delver the ball to teammates all over the floor. He would dish out several no look dimes making for highlight plays. He is one of the most effective guards I seen in the pick and roll between his shot making ability and throw the perfect pocket pass. He has some of the best passing IQ through the month of April.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/isaiah-rider-iv/">Isaiah Rider</a> - Isaiah is a premier point guard not just in his class but in the state. He is a very unselfish player and takes advantage of the talent around him. He loves running the break and giving dimes or throwing lobs. Isaiah does an amazing job of advancing the ball up off of rebounds. He easily finds slashers and shooters and makes it a point to know where they are. He uses his gravity on the court to get teammates better shots and will often pass up a good shots for great shots.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/cameron-hurt/">Cam Hurt</a> - Cam is a very shifty ball handler with a high IQ for finding teammates. He plays with a calm and flashy at the same time. He gives great dump passes in the lane and will even throw a no look every once in a while. He gives good entry passes to the post and always hits there target hand. He makes it very easy for his post to score and and get going. He makes great decisions out of the pick in roll with kick outs and pocket passes.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/douglas-sweatt/">Doug Sweat</a> - Doug had one of the best games I seen from a point guard at the AOG Battle of the brands. Doug put up a double-double against one of the top point guards in the state. He ran the offense getting his shooters wide open looks. He will use his speed to pull the defense off of bigs and set up easy layups. He would find shooters wide open in the weakside corner and zip the ball to them for an open three.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jerrance-howard/">Jerrace Howard</a> - Jerrace is a point guard who plays at his own pace and hardly turns the ball over making him very effective. He plays with great fundamentals and understanding off the game. He sets up teammates in good spacing giving them more room to spot up for kick outs or create one on one opportunity's. He does a great job of feeding the hot hand and always knows where is shooters are as he assisted one teammate with 3 straight three's back to back.     <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/david-rossling/">[player_tooltip player_id='2552765' first='David' last='Rossling']</a> - David is true point guard and table setter. He knows his role as a point guard and will get others going. He is very effective without scoring and proved he needs to be on the floor. He spreads the wealth between shooters, slashers, and post getting his whole team involved. He will set up shooters with a great extra pass and draws defenders to him with his own shooting ability. He will look for mismatches in and post and set up teammates for easy buckets.
