This year was no different, as several prospects helped themselves by performing well at the event in front of media and scouts. Here we break down four local class of 2022 prospects who stood out among the rest.
DUG MCDANIEL | 5’10 G | PAUL VI
McDaniel showcased his intuitive feel for the game on both ends of the court throughout the camp. He played with good pace and changed speeds effectively while on the ball. McDaniel demonstrated nice touch on his floater with either hand and had several crafty finishes around the basket. Defensively, he read the passing lanes like a ball-hawking safety and came up with his fair share of interceptions.
TRAVIS ROBERTS | 6’5 SG | O’CONNELL
Roberts is regarded as a gifted scorer, and while we saw this attribute on display, he showed that he could defend when locked in. He reacts quickly when shooting the gap defensively and can get easy buckets in transition.
TREY THOMAS | 6’2 G | WISE
One thing that stood out about the performance of Trey Thomas on Saturday was how well he shot the ball. He’s clearly been putting in a lot of work on his perimeter jump shot and the results were impressive.
TYRELL WARD | 6’5 SF | DEMATHA
Ward showed why he was one of the better long-term prospects in the gym with his versatility on both ends of the court. He showed that he can defend on the perimeter and in the paint but also score from all three levels on the offensive end.
