As we prepare for another season, be on the lookout for the upcoming Top 250 Expos in your region. In the mean time, the staff will be hitting you with several preseason nuggets. Who will be the top-five scorers from Northern Virginia this season? Below are five players who will have a good shot.
JARED CLAWSON | 5’6 PG | EDISON
In our way-too-early season preview, Clawson was tabbed as one of the area’s top three-point marksmen. He hit 68 threes last season and averaged 18 points per game. Can he put up similar numbers this season?
TRENT DAWSON | 6’0 PG | LOUDOUN VALLEY
Dawson is a point guard by nature, but he has the ability to score the ball with regularity. He averaged over 17 points per game last season, and hit nearly 45 threes in 24 games.
CARON FORDE | 6’3 G | FREEDOM-WOODBRIDGE
Forde has big time scoring potential, but the key will be consistency. If he can make shots from the perimeter and the foul line, he will likely face little resistance.
TYLER SAVAGE | 6’3 G/F | CHAMPE
Savage was a top-15 scorer in the DC Metro area with an average of over 20 points per game last season. The ECU football commit is a big time athlete who can make shots. Savage will have plenty of opportunities to put up similar numbers during his senior season.
ETHAN WILSON | 6’0 G | OSBOURN PARK
Wilson is one of the best players in Prince William County and will have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders this year. He will likely be in good position to feature atop the scoring charts during the winter.
