On the 22nd, the Top 250 Expo will travel back to Virginia where it will take place at Riverbend High School. In anticipation of the upcoming expos in the area, we’re in the process of highlighting 30 prospects who benefited respectively from last year’s local showcases. Today, we take a look at 2019 guard David Penney of Middleburg Academy.
PRE-CAMP
We got our first look at Penney during the Hoop Group Northern Virginia Exposure tour where he emerged as a potential sleeper. He showcased the traits of a true floor general and this is not easy to do in a camp setting.
DURING CAMP
Penney did more of the same upon arrival at last year’s expo in Richmond. One thing that stood out about his performances were the intangibles that he brings to the table. Penney was mentioned as a standout as a result of his efforts.
POST-CAMP
While running the show for a team that consistently flirted with the local power rankings, Penney continued to thrive on a nightly basis. Shortly after his senior season, the Canada native committed to Simon Fraser University.
