WIBCA D1 Recruiting Showcase: 2021 Evals

<p>As we continue with our post-event coverage of the WIBCA D1 Recruiting Showcase, the focus is now on the rising juniors of the 2021 class. The event was loaded with lots of quality 2021 college prospects and some were even able to pick up Division 1 offers at the conclusion of the showcase. These are just some of the top performers from the 2021 class and an introduction to some new players that I evaluated.  </p> <p><em>2021 Evals:</em></p> <p>2021 6'3 SF <strong>Jermaine Davis</strong> (O'Dea HS) - Easily one of the best athletes in the entire showcase. Jermaine could run and jump with just about anyone there near or around his size. He strung off 20 plus points on game with well over half of them in transition. He would fit in well to an uptempo scheme at the collegiate level. His jump shot is a question mark and until he proves he can knock down open shots, his recruitment level may be hindered some, but he has some time to develop that now. </p> <p>2021 6'6 SF <strong>Anthony Swift</strong> (Desert Pines HS/NV) - <span style="font-weight: 400;">Long frame with real Division 1 potential. Anthony moves well up and down the floor and he is a willing rebounder against bigger players. Pretty explosive leaper in open floor off of one leg and looks to finish above the rim in transition. One of the best 2021's in the showcase. *Feature image</span></p> <p>2021 6'3 G <strong>Justice Burceag</strong> (Ballard HS) - A member of the winning team and solid contributor throughout the event. Justice came in completely under the radar and proved to be a solid small college prospect. At 6'3, he can shoot it, finish around the basket and he plays pretty hard. He will be in our updated Washington rankings. </p> <p>2021 6'1 SG <strong>Mason Landdeck</strong> (Cashmere HS) - The Eastern Washington offered guard came in full of confidence and definitely not gun shy. Mason feels confident shooting the ball just about anywhere on the floor and he showed the potential to get hot at times. He makes his free throws and he is comfortable coming off of ball screens and making plays. He will need to get stronger and work on his passing/shot selection to play the point guard position at the Division 1 level. </p> <p>2021 6'6 SF <strong>Jalen Pitre</strong> (Gahr HS/CA) - Good length and agility at 6'6. He is a prototypical D1 athlete as far as numbers go, but he would benefit from some added strength. Jalen got a good amount of deflections on defense and made some things happen in transition. Expanding on his perimeter skill set would help him turn potential into consistent production. </p> <p>2021 6'3 G <strong>Xavier Bailey</strong> (Lindberg HS) - Long-armed guard with some swagger on the court. Xavier has slowly, but surely grown in height over the last couple years, which will help his recruitment. He has good foot work and craftiness finishing around the basket. His jump shot looks like it has improved and this will continue to be a focal point for him if he wants to be an impact player at the next level. </p> <p>2021 6'2 G <strong>Haden Hicks</strong> (Prosser HS) - Strong athlete with sneaky athleticism. He made some highlight plays throughout the weekend and he plays hard. Despite coming from a small town, Hicks does not fear many opponents and plays the same way just about every time I have seen him. His level as a prospect is still to be determined. </p>
