Below are some of the state’s forwards to keep your eyes on in the 2020 class
Skyler Arb, 6’3, F, 2020, Northern Heights
A nice forward who can play Strong defense and make an impact in the paint. He runs the floor well and can score in transition with either hand. He’s also good at getting a body on his opponent’s stealing them off in securing rebounds. He’s a good shot blocker and muscle man down low when their team needs some size and physicality.
Tyler Brockhoff, 6’3, F, 2020, Hiawatha
A slippery forward who can get to the basket and score. He has a solid game on both ends of the floor and can block shots and use his creativeness to find openings. He has a soft 3-point shot and is confident scoring in the corner and the wing. He has a high release point to a shot and it’s difficult for defenders to get a hand on it.
Will Blythe, 6’3, F, 2020, Mission Valley
An agile forward who moves well in open space. Blythe has solid basketball IQ and can tip away passes and come away with the ball. He is tough for his size, a player who could operate on the perimeter in different circumstances. He’s a talented rebounder on both ends and can clean up poor plays and get on the board. He scores well
Taylor Mclain, 6’3, F, 2020, South Haven
A good player with strength and size. He has comfort playing defense on the block and has enough athleticism to stay with players when they move in and out of the lane. He also scores well and gets good touches due to his movement and versatility. He rebounds well also, someone who has a good eye and can collect the ball on both ends of the floor.
Brady Palen, 6’3, F, 2020, St. Johns Tipton
A smooth forward who has a long frame and good speed. He runs the floor well and has a nice touch to his jumper. He is an inside-out forward who can shoot from distance and take the ball to the hole and finish. Palen jumps well and can finish above the rim in transition and in half court settings.
