Below is a brief rundown of five local class of 2020 wings who’ve been playing well recently and could boost their stock this month.
MALCOLM ALEXANDER | 6’4 W | BULLIS/DC THUNDER
Alexander is an efficient wing with good size who can shoot well from three but also mix it up nicely inside the arc. He’s shown the ability to score consistently this summer while the other areas of his overall game continue to improve.
PHILLIP CARTER | 6’6 F | GOOD COUNSEL/DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
Carter broke out during DMV Live Session I and is heading into this month with some positive momentum. He’s put himself firmly on the radar of college coaches who will certainly want to see more of what he can do.
QUINTON MINCEY | 6’5 F | ELEANOR ROOSEVELT/MID ATLANTIC SELECT
Mincey is a high-level athlete with big time potential on both ends of the court. Defensively, he can protect the paint or defend on the perimeter. Mincey is best offensively in transition where he utilizes his length, athleticism, and improving skill set.
JORDAN OATES | 6’3 F | ATHOLTON/MARYLAND 3D
Oates is a hard-nosed wing who rebounds relentlessly and can defend on the wing. He’s got good touch around the rim and produces from minimal touches.
QUENTIN SOUTHALL | 6’3 G | GEORGETOWN PREP/PURE GAME ELITE
Southall is a sneaky athletic wing who should be targeted by high academic schools. The key to his recruitment could be how well he shoots it moving forward.
