5-Peyton Weixelman, 6’0, G, 2020, Manhattan, SSA Elite Black
Weixelman is a smart player with the ball who can put up shots with a hand in his face. He connected early in his games Saturday as he was constantly moving and attacking and was given several looks because of it. He handles the ball well and played strong defense on the Kansas Hoggs’ primary ball handler.
15-Larry Cherry Jr., G, 2020, Southeast, NLHA Gaddis
Moved his feet well as a defender on the ball and showed strength on the perimeter and inside some. He was more comfortable off the ball and looked to score and push the tempo. He showed a nice touch with a one-handed floater and had a great transition pass to Jerome Washington for an easy finish around the rim.
2-Caden Hurla, 5’9, G, 2020, St. Mary’s, SSA White
A multiple sport athlete who handles the ball well and looks to connect from distance. Hurla is a creative scorer, passer and team player. He looks to make smart plays with the ball and showed he is a terrific leader and one who can spot schemes and keep his teammates looking for openings.
9-Ruben Littlehead, 6’0, G, 2020, Lawrence, Freedom Hoops
Littlehead head showed his ability to score and play off the ball. He is a defender first who stays with the ball and showed he can contest and stay with taller, quicker guards who like to shoot from distance. Littlehead collapsed on the ball and showed he could handle the ball for himself and see time as a distributing point.
0-Jake Vercher, 5’11, G, 2020, Chapman, SSA White
A nice player who does a bit of everything. He can handle the ball some, defend the ball and takes his time and looks to score when he has an open look. He runs the floor and got up and scored in transition. He contested shots and played hard.
