TEKAO CARPENTER | 6’2 G | TEAM DURANT/HOME SCHOOL ’22
Carpenter is known for his shooting ability, but this weekend he sat down, strapped up, and showed good potential defensively. He rarely if ever got beat off the dribble, moved his feet well laterally and contested shots effectively.
BEAU EVERETT | 6’1 G | PURE GAME ELITE/RIVERSIDE ’20
Everett has impressive defensive instincts both on and off the ball. He’s tough, scrappy and has quick hands. Everett shot the gaps frequently and was rewarded with a handful of steals which he quickly turned into transition opportunities.
SPENCER HAYES | 6’5 SF | NEW WORLD/ST. ANDREW’S ’20
Hayes lived up to his reputation as one of the top wing defenders in the local 2020 class. He’s wiry but strong, and his length makes things difficult for opposing ball handlers on the perimeter.
FANI LEWIS | 5’9 G | TEAM LAB/ELEANOR ROOSEVELT ’22
Lewis is a quick guard who picks up full court and is able to consistently turn his man but also stay in front. His active hands defensively resulted in a number of deflections and steals.
CHRISTIAN WATSON | 6’5 SF | TEAM TAKEOVER/ST. JOHN’S ’22
Watson has the prototypical size to defend on the wing, and he’s getting stronger as he grows into his body. He’s a very competent defender who likes to convert turnovers into fast break points.
