As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2021 class
Kobe Koehler, 6’2, G/F, 2021, Eureka
A thin player who can come up big and score. He has a nice shot from distance and is comfortable from the corner and the wing. His height and athleticism allows him to play defense on the block and he has long arms which help him catch high passes and contest shots. He’s also a good rebounder and looks to push the ball up the floor.
Dru Volavka, 5’9, G, 2021, Caldwell
A strong guard for his size who lets his defense speak for itself. He is smart on defense and can come away with a steal and looks to contest shots and crowd his opponents. He can dribble some and is also very good at getting and finishing open looks.
Bryant Banks, 6’0, 2021, Southeast of Saline
A nice guard who does what his team asks of him. He can handle the ball some and shoots when he’s open and looks to rebound and contest shots. He gives a lot of energy on the floor and sees minutes by being active and looking to contribute team first play.
Josh Stuber, 6’2, G, 2021, Abilene
A strong guard with good handles and a wide frame. He has good size and a smart all-around game. He can weave through traffic and knows how to use his head on defense and can cause confusion for his opponents if they aren’t being vocal and paying attention. He can also shoot from outside if given the look, although he prefers to get close to the basket.
Daniel Eck, 6’1, G, 2021, Ellis
A guard who brings energy and strength to the floor. He runs hard and looks to score when he’s open and make smart passes and provide ball security. He plays good defense and keeps his hands up and contests shots and looks to force turnovers and cause opponents to make poor decisions with the ball.
