As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions in the junior class.
Below are some of the state’s players on the rise in the 2021 class.
Andrew Piper, 6’4, F, 2021, Lawrence Free State
Piper is a talented player who can dial in his shot around the basket and get the bounce. He has good strength and looks to block shots and score without taking too many dribbles. He does the little things well and can tip away passes and get open looks. He moves well and has a good rhythm and bounce to his step.
Max Close, 6’4, F, 2021, Shawnee Mission South
A multiple sport athlete who brings strength and experience to the floor. He is a versatile player with good size at 6’4 and the knowledge to play inside and some on the wing. He can score around the glass, at the high post and is a good passer and rebounder. A composed player.
Preston Reynolds, 6’4, G/F, 2021, Shawnee Mission East
A hard-working player who looks to jump passing lanes and finish on the move. He is a physical player and looks to rebound, score and make the right play with the ball. Reynolds like to keep his teammates involved and is good at adjusting his game. He has guard experience but knows how to play big if he needs to.
Ethan Stuhlsatz, 6’4, G/F, 2021, Kapaun
A good-sized combo forward who plays physical inside and does a great job at playing the wings and scoring from deep. He has a thin frame, but has great hands and can rebound well on both ends of the floor. Stuhlsatz can make the most out of bad plays and can finish around the rim and get his shot off quickly.
