Rickard has played with a couple teams this winter and success has come from both squads.
“This spring/summer I’ve been playing with Comets JL (13-10) and Inspired Athletics (12-9),” Cayden said. “The highlight of the year so far has definitely been winning the Select Classic with the Comets”.
Rickard averaged 17 points, 5.2 boards, 3.6 assists, and 2.8 steals a game this winter making over a third of his triples. Fargo North had a tough middle of the season ending with a 9-15 record but the goal is for Fargo North to take a step forward while Cayden also moves forward as a player.
“My goal this is off-season is getting stronger as a player, finishing through contact at the rim,” Rickard said. “I’m also looking to improve on leadership.
“We lost five great seniors this past season. But we have a great core coming back and many guys are coming up the program who should help us a lot this season. We have a lot of potential to be really good next year.”
Cayden is also picking up college interest from a long list of schools.
“I’ve heard from Valley City State, Northwestern, Minnesota Morris, Crown, Augsburg, and Concordia. I got elite camp invites from Southwest Minnesota State, Minnesota State Mankato, Jamestown, Mayville, and Black Hills State. I’ve visited Northwestern, Crown, Morris, and I’m visiting VCSU this June.”
