The 2018-19 season was a tough one of Topeka’s most storied basketball program, but 2020 Kelvin Curry says a three-wing season at Highland Park is motivation for the upcoming season.
A strong, athletic player, Curry is a terrific athlete who likes to block shots, dunk and run. the floor. He says the experience of the 2018-19 season has made the Scots hungry for a
“We was a young team working hard, we never gave up when kept fighting to win, we only won three games but next year is going to be different, we coming back with more experience,” Curry said. “Kids at my school they all say ‘you’re not good at basketball’ or ‘you not going nowhere in basketball’ so that makes me want to keep fighting and improve my game.”
A 6’3 wing player, Curry is putting together a strong offseason running with the Kansas Hoggs 17U squad and hopes the experience plays off next season.
It prepared me a lot to show more of my athletic ability, I’m ready to play school ball,” he says.
Curry says he is a fan of North Carolina State guard Jalen Lecque.
“ I just like how he dunks and just plays the game of basketball he is a humble player all around,” he says.
